Questions for Journalists – March 2015

Journalist blog

As part of a new blog series here at The Agency, we have been reaching out to journalists and media professionals to chat with them about their experiences in the industry. We had the opportunity to interview Mike Morrison of Mike’s Bloggity Blog, a well-known Calgary journalist and an expert on building a social media presence.

What story are you most proud of?

My first story for Swerve, which was their cover story. It was also picked up by Yahoo Travel in the states.

If you could only write about one thing for the rest of your career, what would it be?

Definitely travel. But I’m always looking for a new way of covering travel, because literally everything has been written about.

What advice would you give to PR professionals about working with journalists?

Try to make the pitch personal.  Even starting with a “Hi Mike,” increases the chances of me reading it, or at least reading it faster.

Thanks, Mike!
