Last week, some of The Agency’s team members had the opportunity to attend Inventure$ 2022, an in-person professional conference focused on global innovation. Inventure$ was presented by Alberta Innovates, the province’s largest research and innovation agency.
The conference, spread over three days, consisted of expert panels, exceptional keynote speakers and ample networking opportunities. It provided professionals with a platform to engage in learning, listening and connecting. Inventure$ 2022 brought together a diversity of ideas, thought leaders and change-makers from around the world.
Innovators and startup founders from the energy, health, agtech and management sector had the chance to meet with the many venture capitalists and corporate investors that, now more than ever, are looking for exciting entrepreneurial opportunities to fund.
Here is what some of our team members have to say about their experience at Inventure$ 2022:
Sean Sandhurst, Head of Marketing: “Inventure$ 2022 had a great collection of innovators, start ups, entrepreneurs, experts, leaders, investors and VCs under one roof. I attended a few sessions that pertained to energy transformation (hydrogen) and marketing. It was wonderful to be able to connect with entrepreneurs and be able to share ideas on how to commercialize their ideas. All in all, Inventure$ was a great first conference to get us started as the world gets back to in-person events after the pandemic.”
Casey Bohn, Account Director: “Inventure$ brought together some of the greatest innovators and entrepreneurs from around the world. It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with the tech community in Calgary and have great conversations about all things tech and innovation. The sessions were informative and thought provoking and effectively addressed the latest trends, roadblocks, and opportunities that we’re facing today.”
Kira Hawes, Sr. Account Coordinator: “Inventure$ was an excellent opportunity to connect with the trailblazers within Calgary’s thriving tech community. As a public relations professional, so much of what we do is dependent on our relationships within the community and Inventure$ allowed us to nurture those connections. I attended some sessions which exposed me to innovations happening in Ag-Tech, FinTech, HealthTech and more which help me better serve our roster of clients. It provided perspective on innovation in Alberta as well as the world and how Alberta can continue to be a leader.”
Aafreen Ahmed, Account Coordinator: “Inventure$ was a great first conference to attend as a young professional. There was something for everyone. During my time there, I was not only able to learn skills specific to strategic communications but also understand how Calgary is quickly becoming the centre for the buzzing tech and innovation scene taking place globally. I met some really interesting people at Inventure$, from startup founders and budding entrepreneurs to other communications professionals like me.”
Overall, our team had a great experience and is looking forward to continuing to build on the connections we made at Inventure$.
